Vaccinations
Once we know your pet is healthy, we can also keep
her protected against common contagious diseases with vaccines tailored for her
lifestyle. Your veterinarian will discuss with you which vaccinations are most
important for your pet. Here in Northwest Indiana, we commonly run into problems
with such diseases as parvovirus, leptospirosis, distemper and lyme disease in dogs, and leukemia and
herpes virus can be problems in cats.
Parasite prevention is also very important for any pet. Fleas are remarkably
easy to catch (even for indoor pets), and heartworm can be spread with a single
mosquito bite. Intestinal parasites are also very common pests, and some of
these can be very serious if spread to people, especially children.
