INSTRUCTIONS FOR PARTICIPATING IN THE SPAY/NEUTER CLINIC:

1. Fill out our registration form and return it (or fax) to our clinic no later than one day before the clinic. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.  If the clinic is full, you may schedule for any of our upcoming clinics at any time. Please fill out one form per cat.

2. The night before the clinic, catch or collect the cats you would like to spay or neuter in a carrier or trap. Do not try handle cats that are not used to being handled by people!! You may get hurt. A live trap works well for more fearful cats. These are available for purchase at home improvement stores such as Home Depot or Lowes. We also have one you can rent for a nominal fee.

3. BRING EACH CAT IN ITS OWN CARRIER. One cat per carrier only. Loose or leashed cats will not be permitted – you will be charged a fee to place your cat in a cardboard carrier if you do not bring a carrier with you. Do not put blankets, towels, or other soft bedding in the carrier with the cat. These pose a suffocation hazard and are also difficult to clean when they become soiled. Any items in the carrier with the cat will be removed prior to surgery. Please arrive between 8:00 and 8:45am.

4. DO NOT FEED THE CAT any later than midnight the night before the clinic. Water should be available up until the time you bring the cat in.

5. CASH DEPOSIT. Services MUST be prepaid. See the application for the price of all services.

6. DEWORMING/FLEAS/VACCINATION. Please note – if fleas, ear mites, or tapeworms are found, the cat will be isolated and treated automatically at your expense at the price listed on the application. This is for the cat's benefit as much as it is to prevent the spread of these contagious parasites to other animals in our clinic and prevent contamination of your property when you pick up the cat. Rabies vaccination will be performed unless a current rabies certificate can be shown upon admission.  Distemper and Leukemia vaccinations are also strongly recommended for outdoor cats.

7. DO NOT BRING ANY PERSONAL ITEMS. The return of collars, leashes, harnesses, or tags cannot be guaranteed, as all of these will need to be removed prior to surgery. Do not put blankets, towels, liners, or any other type of soft bedding in the carrier with the cat. These pose a suffocation hazard and are also difficult to clean when they become soiled. Any items in the carrier with the cat will be removed prior to surgery.

8. PICKUP. Cats will need to be picked up between 4:30 and 5:30pm the day of surgery. Overnight boarding will not be permitted unless prior arrangements are made. Please CALL US to verify your pickup time and final charges before you come in. Due to the large number of cats we see for these clinics, it is impossible for us to call everyone with updates.

Please call us if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you!
